What is Ultrasound?

Ultrasound imaging is a safe, painless procedure that utilizing high-frequency sound waves bouncing over parts of the body and captures the returning “echoes” as images. Ultrasound is commonly used for studies of the abdomen, liver, spleen, pancreas, pelvis, thyroid, blood vessels, gynecological, and obstetric for fetal assessment in pregnant women. During your exam, a wand, called a transducer, is pressed over the area to be imaged. The images appear on a monitor immediately and the wand is moved to obtain different angles.

Echocardiogram studies which evaluate the anatomy and blood flow of the heart, its valves and related blood vessels, are also available at our office as well as vascular procedures.

Our facilities offer the latest ultrasound technology, which offers improved clarity for the most accurate diagnosis. Our specially-trained technologists are experienced and skilled in all aspects of this modality and we are ACR accredited.
